As we approach the end of 2012 I would like once again to thank you all for the wonderful support Poetry Space has had this year.
The Online showcase has been brimming over with poignant, interesting and imaginative poems from all over the world. As you may know each quarter I ask a guest editor to choose a selection of poems from those submitted and this Winter it is the turn of David R. Morgan.
Go to the website to see the showcase and read poems by Moira Andrew, Di Coffey, Jo Waterworth, Les Merton,Johanna Boal, Mbizo Chirasha,Alexander Conyers,Michael Kwaku Kesse Somuah and Dave Wood. Photographs/Art by Chris Sims, Kate Blair and Toby Morgan.
The past week has seen the successful launch of new children’s collection Once Bitten (the third this year for Poetry Space) and both Moira Andrew and Fiona Murphy continue to get out and about showing their books to delighted groups of children.
Whilst all Poetry Space books are available online in the Poetry Space bookshop and Amazon Books I am also finding small shops are increasingly interested in stocking them. New outlets coming on board soon include Martin’s newsagents in Cadbury Heath. Many thanks to Duncan at this branch. Down the Plughole continues to sell well at Imagine Books in Weymouth.
Due to the sheer volume of work and the needs of my ninety one year old father the promised prizewinner’s anthology: Words that Signify is very late coming out. I am hoping to get it printed, stapled and trimmed by last posting date so that all of the contributors have their complimentary copies for Christmas. From January you can order these more widely from all good bookshops.
As always I’d like to do a Christmas blog of poems to appear on the blog over the Christmas period. This is now a tradition of Poetry Space and very popular with readers. Poems will appear on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve. Relevant photos or artwork welcome too.
